Our Dominica passport should be a symbol of national pride, a document that opens doors to the world, not one that raises questions or invites suspicion. Today, it is neither. The Citizenship by Investment (CBI) program, championed by Skerrit and his administration has turned our passport into a commodity, devaluing it in the eyes of the international community and restricting the freedom of ordinary Dominicans to travel safely and with dignity. This ends with us!
The sale of our Dominica passports will stop. Immediately and Completely. No exceptions. But ending the program is only the first step.
Every passport issued under the old system will be reviewed. Any passport that does not meet the strictest standards of integrity will be revoked. This will be difficult and it will take work, but the citizens of Dominica deserve nothing less. We are committed to doing the hard work necessary to restore respect for our nation and our people.
We will not allow fraudulent programs to dictate our lives any longer. Too many Dominicans have been affected by a system designed for profit, not for people. Skerrit’s program has weakened our reputation, limited travel opportunities and undermined trust in our institutions. That stops now!
Once our passports are secure, we will introduce a new, reformed citizenship program, under a new name, with strict criteria and under new leadership. Citizenship will no longer be a transaction, it will be a privilege earned through integrity, transparency and respect. Our goal is to ensure that every Dominica passport is a source of pride, a mark of credibility and a gateway to the world.
And we will go further. We will pursue visa-free access to Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, showing the world that Dominica is serious about the integrity of our citizens. This will take determination, negotiation and international cooperation, but we are ready for the challenge.
This is about more than passports. It is about restoring trust, dignity and hope for Dominica. It is about reclaiming the respect that our people deserve on the global stage. It is about building a nation where our children, families and citizens can travel freely, knowing their country stands behind them with integrity and pride.
As long as Skerrit remains in power, Dominica will never achieve true visa-free access to countries like Canada, the United States, or the United Kingdom. While ordinary citizens face restrictions, he travels freely with his American-born children, enjoying privileges denied to the very people he governs. This hypocrisy must end. Our nation deserves leadership that works for the people, not for personal convenience or profit.
Dominica is ready for change. We are ready to do the hard work, to hold ourselves accountable and to restore the honor of our nation. Together, we will ensure that our passports are once again a symbol of pride, opportunity and the bright future Dominica deserves.
