Why The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) Has Not Registered, And Why That Is The Right Choice.

The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) is not yet a registered political party. Not because we are hiding. Not because we are unprepared. But because registering at this stage would be premature, symbolic, and largely meaningless to the actual work that must be done.

The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) is building something different from the tired political machines that dominate Dominica today. And that means taking a different path, one built on organizing, listening, and earning the people’s trust before we concern ourselves with government forms or party stamps.

People often ask, “Why haven’t you registered yet?”

Our response: Why would we?

Here is the truth the other parties will not say out loud: registering a political party outside of an election cycle in Dominica offers no real benefits to a new, grassroots movement like ours. Here is why:

Many registered parties here in Dominca have no members, no platform, no movement, and no vision. A party is not legitimate because it is registered. A party is legitimate when it has the support of the people, a clear plan, and the courage to speak truth to power. The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) has all of that, and it is growing every day.

There is no special power granted to the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) by registering outside of an election season. We do not get free airtime. You do not get public funding. You do not get automatic invitations to sit at the table. The only real purpose of registration in Dominica is to place a name and symbol on an election ballot, and elections have not been called.

Registering now would be nothing more than checking a box to satisfy people who believe formality is more important than function. But we are not here to impress the system; We Are here To change It.

The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) does not need a certificate to:

  • Speak on national issues.
  • Propose bold and innovative solutions.
  • Host public forums and town halls.
  • Educate our citizens on Direct Democracy.
  • Hold the ruling government accountable.
  • Offer a clear, people-first path forward.

And we are already doing some of these things, and more will come in due time. And we are doing them without permission, without political handouts, and without needing validation from the very system we plan to reform. While the other parties are clinging to power through bureaucracy, bribery, and fear, we are out here talking to the people, building alliances, developing policy, and growing momentum from the ground up.

  • We are not in a hurry.
  • We are not moved by pressure.
  • And we are not here to play by the old rules.

The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) is not legally required to register at this time, and no election has been called. That means there is no obligation, only opportunities to prepare, build, and organize properly.

We are fully focused on meeting our obligations to the people first, not on gaining the empty approval of two parties, the Dominica Labour Party and United Workers Party, that have created a political theatre of insults, division, and false promises. That may be the game they play, but we have refused to enter that arena because we are not interested in debating or mimicking a broken system.

Let us be clear that registration will come, on our terms, when the time is right, and when it reflects the strength, structure, and unity of a fully prepared people-led movement. We are building the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) from the ground up, community by community, idea by idea, policy by policy. This includes:

  • Educating the public on our unique platform of Direct Democracy, something no other party in the Caribbean or the western hemisphere has dared to attempt.
  • Engaging with Dominicans directly, not guessing from behind closed doors.
  • Developing real proposals like land redistribution that speak to housing, youth opportunity, and food security, not recycled promises.
  • Forming strong internal leadership and teams that are ready to serve, not chase titles.
  • We do not need their validation.
  • We do not seek their approval.
  • And frankly, we are not interested in gaining acceptance from the same people Dominicans are trying to replace.

The facts of their failures speak for themselves. We are not here to argue, we are here to offer real solutions and to work directly with the people of Dominica.

Ironically, the very fact that if they start talking about us, watching us, and trying to discredit us, is the clearest validation of all, it shows they are afraid.

They fear a movement that:

  • Refuses to play their game.
  • Refuses to mirror their tribalism.
  • Refuses to be silenced or intimidated.
  • Brings fresh energy and people-powered ideas.
  • Connects directly with citizens, not party elites.

When the time is right, when our leadership and teams are fully established, and the people are standing strong beside us, we will register. Not as a symbolic act. Not to please critics. But to formalize the will of the people, as one united voice, ready to change Dominica for good.

Until then, let it be known:

  • The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) is not a reaction; it is a movement.
  • We are not a trend, we are the future.
  • And we will not be rushed into a political circus just to validate anyone else’s insecurities.

We came to listen. We came to unite. We came to rebuild Dominica together. Let those who are afraid of real change continue to shout and point. Their noise only confirms what we already know: We Are The Ones tTo Watch!
