Here we go again. Josephine Gabriel and Company Limited, one of Dominica’s “longest-serving companies” just commissioned a $10 million bottling plant at Canefield. Fully automated. State-of-the-art. Smooth press releases. Big smiles. Everyone is congratulating themselves.
But think about this for a second, who actually benefits from this?
- Not the families struggling to pay rent, to put food on the table, to afford school fees.
- Not the people who could get the same quality water at home for $300 with a simple filtration system.
No. The only people benefiting are the company itself, the top 1% – while the rest of the country is forced to pay $5 for 1.5 litres of filtered tap water and cheer for it.
And politicians like Irving McIntyre are out there commending it like it’s some national achievement, applauding millions spent on a project that does nothing for ordinary Dominicans. Really? Seriously?
Think for yourselves. Stop clapping for the people already on top while your communities crumble around you. Stop giving your money, your attention, and your approval to the rich while poverty gets worse every day.
And here’s the kicker – this is exactly why Roosevelt Skerrit controls this country. Because people like you don’t think. They don’t question. They don’t act. They follow blindly. They cheer for every corporate expansion, every slick promotion, every expensive, unnecessary project, because they’ve been trained to be followers, not citizens.
This is the reality, you keep supporting the 1%, the elite, the politicians lining their pockets, and you let them dictate your lives. That’s why real change, the kind the Dominica Reform Party fights for. never reaches you.
And don’t forget people like Asa Bantan. Think he cares about you or your family? Think again. He doesn’t care about your struggles, your bills, or your community. The only thing he cares about is his paycheck. Yet people still buy into his paid promotions like obedient followers, sharing them, liking them, defending him, while he laughs all the way to the bank.
Dominica, wake up. Stop being followers. Stop applauding corporate and political elites while your country collapses around you.
Stop giving your hard-earned money to projects that benefit a handful of people at the top!
Stop letting politicians like Roosevelt Skerrit control your lives because you won’t think for yourself!
- Think for yourself.
- Demand for yourself.
- Fight for yourself.
Because right now, your silence, your blind obedience, and your cheers for the wrong people are what allow poverty to deepen, corruption to thrive, and your country to be run for the benefit of the 1% instead of the people.
If you continue like this, don’t be surprised when nothing ever changes. You are complicit in your own exploitation. And that is why the Dominica Reform Party exists, to fight where everyone else stays silent, to act where everyone else claps blindly, and to stand for the people when the rest of the country follows obediently into the hands of the elite.
