From The Leader’s Office: And They Panic In Silence

Recently, a member of my team had a conversation with someone associated with a member of the United Workers Party. Unbeknownst to them, that team member is affiliated with the Dominica Reform Party. As the discussion turned towards my party and its growing influence, what emerged from that conversation was revealing and telling.

The individual admitted that within the United Workers Party, there have been discussions about how to handle the endless criticisms of Thomas Fontaine and the party coming from my side. They acknowledged that these criticisms are damaging the party’s image and that the growing interest in the Dominica Reform Party is creating genuine unease.

What was most striking, exactly as expected, was the strategy they are relying on:, and that was to try and ignore the criticism, ride it out, and hope that I never come forward. That response speaks volumes.

First, the fact that the United Workers Party is even discussing me and my existence in private confirms that they recognize the impact the Dominica Reform Party is having on the political landscape. They are stressed, uneasy, and aware that their usual tools, intimidation, secrecy, and quiet control do not work against a party leader who is transparent, accountable, fearless, and unknown to them.

Some will argue that not yet being publicly visible is the same as hiding. It is not. Transparency is not knowing my identity; it is my conduct. Accountability is not standing there and putting in performance; it is consistency.

I have never misled the public, never shifted my position for convenience, and never hidden behind party machinery for political protection. When I speak, I do so deliberately and truthfully, and when I step forward fully, it will be with clarity, not political theatrics.

My remaining physically outside the public spotlight does not mean a lack of transparency. Transparency is measured by honesty and consistency, not constant exposure. I have not hidden from scrutiny. I have simply refused to play political theatre.

Do not confuse visibility with integrity. Integrity is not standing on a box shouting your name; it is standing by your words. Accountability is not appearances and optics; it is action.

Second, their refusal to confront the criticisms directly shows that they are out of their depth. For decades, the United Workers Party has operated behind the scenes, attempting to control the narrative while undermining opponents in silence. They have now encountered a party and a leader who refuse to play that game. I stand openly. I speak plainly. I act with integrity. And because they do not know who I am, no history to distort, no scandal to exploit – they are powerless.

What makes this even more telling is that when I do step fully into the public arena, with my team assembled and ready, the United Workers Party will be no less helpless than they are now.

I am untouchable. There is nothing in my past that can be used to tarnish my reputation, my sincerity, or the words I have spoken. I have spent my life representing Dominica with pride, honour, and dignity. I am straightforward, no-nonsense, and honest, a mother, a wife, and a leader who acts for the people every day, not for optics or political games.

Contrast that with the record of the established parties: the cowardice of Thomson Fontaine, the betrayal of Roosevelt Skerrit, the elitism of Bernard Hurtault, the turncoat actions of Joshua Francis, and the violent rhetoric of Moun Sewyé. Their histories are well known, and they tell a consistent story of fear, secrecy, and manipulation. With the Dominica Reform Party, what you see is what you get: authenticity, accountability, and courage.

The United Workers Party’s current strategy – to ignore, to wait, and to hope- is not leadership. It is desperation and fear. They have finally encountered a leader and a party they cannot intimidate, manipulate, or control.

Every day, the Dominica Reform Party grows stronger, more visible, and more capable of holding not only the United Workers Party, but also every other political party in Dominica, accountable. Over time, their fear grows because they are facing a political reality they can no longer manage.

For Dominicans who are paying attention, the message is clear: a new era of leadership has arrived. One built on honesty, courage, and a deep commitment to our people. The old “all boys club” can cling to their outdated strategies. I will not.

The Dominica Reform Party and my leadership will continue to rise, standing firm, speaking truth, and representing Dominica with pride, integrity, and honour that no one can ever undermine.
