The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) will continue construction of the international airport, on schedule, on budget and on time. Dominica has been held back by political games, ego-driven decisions, and a lack of vision. But that ends now.
In 2000, it was Roosevelt Skerrit and his Dominica Labour Party who abandoned the United Workers Party’s international airport project when they took power. Instead of building our future, they chose other priorities, leaving Dominica stuck with boat rides and connecting flights while the rest of the Caribbean advanced.
Now, history is trying to repeat itself, but this time, it is the United Workers Party, currently led by Thompson Fontaine and previous leader Lennox Linton, who openly admitted on public radio that they plan to use the courts to shut down the airport project.
That is right, they want to stop the very progress we so badly need. They are not even hiding it. They said it with their mouths. They want to drag the airport and our economy into legal battles that will delay or destroy everything we have worked for and waited 25 years for.
At a time when Dominica is finally moving forward, when jobs are within reach, when flights are about to connect us to the world, when families and businesses are preparing to thrive, the United Workers Party is planning to drag us backward. Taking the airport to court? Blocking development that helps all Dominicans? That is not patriotism. That is not a concern for the people. This is deliberate sabotage – plain and simple!
The United Workers Party has gone on public radio and openly and fearlessly admitted they plan to take the international airport project to court with the full intention of stopping it. Not pausing it. Stopping it!. This is a project that will bring hundreds of jobs, increase tourism, boost small businesses, create new opportunities for our young people, and finally connect Dominica directly to the world.
And after threatening to kill all of that, they have the nerve to ask for your vote. It is not just outrageous, it is insulting.
Why would anyone in their right mind vote for a party that is actively working to take opportunities away from you and your family? Why would you support a party who are fighting against the very jobs that could put food on your table or help your children stay in Dominica instead of leaving to find work?
To give them your vote after that would not only be foolish, t would be absurd. It would be like thanking someone for slamming the door in your face. Like cheering for the people who are trying to block your progress and bury your future in legal red tape.
Make no mistake: the United Workers Party is not protecting you. They are not fighting for you. They are fighting against you.

And we will never ask you to support us while we try to destroy your livelihood. Dominicans are smart. And we know when someone is trying to take us for fools.
