For over three decades, Dominicans have watched their dreams of independence and prosperity slip away, not because they lack ambition or ability, but because the very foundation needed for success, land, has been out of reach.
Today, the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) say: That changes now!
The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) is proud to announce a bold and transformative initiative that will directly benefit thousands of ordinary local Dominican citizens once elected to office:
The redistribution of idle government land to youth, renters, and families who are committed to building homes and growing food.
This is not a dream; it is a real, actionable plan designed to address the rising cost of living, the housing crisis, food insecurity, and the lack of opportunity facing our people, especially our youth. This is not a handout. It is a nation-building strategy rooted in common sense, economic truth, and social justice. The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) believes that land is power, and for too long, that power has been kept away from the very people who need it most.
Under the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) leadership:
- Young people will be able to own land and build a future.
- Renters will finally have a path to homeownership and independence.
- Families will be able to grow their food and reduce household expenses.
- Idle government land will be turned into productive communities, farms, and homes.
This is the kind of bold, people-first innovation that the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) brings to the table and exactly what Dominica needs right now! And we are the FIRST AND ONLY political party with the vision and courage to do it. Because we here at the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) do not believe in waiting. We believe in doing what is right, what is smart, and what is long overdue!
Why The Public Benefits.
Ask any young Dominican why they are planning to leave the country, and you will hear the same things: “I can’t afford rent. I can’t own land. There’s no opportunity for me here.”
That is heartbreaking and unacceptable. By giving land to our youth and struggling renters:
- We empower them to build homes and take control of their futures.
- We cut the cost of living by eliminating rent and encouraging local food production.
- We give people the ability to save money, build equity, and provide long-term stability for their families.
- And we stop the brain drain by giving our young people a reason to stay, invest, and grow right here at home.
The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) knows that land ownership builds dignity, builds pride, builds communities, and builds a future.
Why The Government And The Country Benefit.
To those who ask, “But what does the government get in return?” the answer is simple: Everything.
- When citizens own land, they build homes.
- When they build homes, they buy materials, hire workers, and stimulate the economy.
- When they farm, they feed their families and their neighbours, reducing imports and increasing food security.
- And when the land is titled and productive, the government can collect small, fair taxes down the line on something that was previously sitting idle.
Right now, too much of Dominica’s land is unused, underused, or locked up by elites and absentee foreign investors. Meanwhile, ordinary Dominicans are fighting to survive in cramped rental apartments or multi-generational homes with no privacy, no freedom, and no way out.
The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) say this must end! It is time to give the land back to the people, the ones who will use it to build, farm, and flourish.
More Food, Less Importing.
Every week, the prices of basic goods like rice, chicken, and vegetables climb higher. Dominicans are spending more and eating less. That is not sustainable. But when the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) gives land to the people and helps them grow food:
- We strengthen local agriculture.
- We increase food security.
- We make Dominica less vulnerable to global inflation, shipping costs, and foreign policy shocks.
This is not theory. This is survival.
Less Poverty, More Pride.
Owning land gives our people hope. It gives them something to pass on to their children. It ends the cycle of poverty that comes with renting for a lifetime and having nothing to show for it. It reduces dependence on government programs. It reduces crime. It builds stronger communities from the ground up.
A Nation Of Owners, Not Tenants.
What makes a country strong is not how many hotels or foreign investors it has. It is how many of its people feel like they belong. Let us become a nation of owners, not tenants. Let us build a Dominica where every citizen has a stake, a future, and a place to call their own.
The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) is not promising miracles. We are offering a plan. A Path Forward. A real solution that works for the people, not just the powerful.
We invite all Dominicans, young and old, urban and rural, rich and poor, to support this movement.
- Stand with us.
- Build with us.
- Own with us.
It is time to take our land, our dignity, and our future back. Because when the people own the land, the people own the power.
Why The Dominica Labour Party And United Workers Party Will Oppose Giving Land To The People, And Why That Proves We Need Change.
ThThe moment we, the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP), announced our bold and people-first plan to give land to youth, renters, and farmers, we knew the old political class would panic.. And sure enough, both the ruling Dominica Labour Party and the so-called “alternative” United Workers Party will start whispering the same tired arguments:
- “It’s not realistic.”
- “It’s too expensive.”
- “You can’t just give land away.”
- “People won’t know what to do with it.”
- “You have to protect foreign investors.”
Let us break this down clearly for every Dominican to understand:
The Dominica Labour Party Government Will Oppose It Because It Threatens Their Control.
For 25 years, the Dominica Labour Party has used dependency as a political weapon. They hand out small contracts, food packages, or cash favours at election time, but they never give people real independence. Why? Because the minute you own something, your land, your home, your future, you no longer need to beg them. You no longer need to be loyal to corruption. And that scares them.
This Dominica Labour Party government has sold off our citizenship, our land, and our future to foreign millionaires through the CBI program. They have given the best real estate to developers, while our people are renting, struggling, or migrating.
Of course, they will oppose giving land to you. They do not want Dominicans empowered. They want Dominicans to need, because when you need, they are in control.
They have built a system over 25 years, where your struggle keeps them in power. But with land comes independence. With independence comes freedom. And with your support, we will take that power back and give it to our people where it belongs.
The United Workers Party Will Oppose It Because They Have No Real Solutions.
Do not be fooled by their blue shirts and loud rallies. The United Workers Party had their chance. They have been in and out of office and have NEVER proposed anything this ambitious or people-centred. Why? Because they are not thinking about you, they are thinking about power. They are just waiting to replace the Dominica Labour Party, not change the system.
They will say this land plan is “too radical” or “not practical.” But what is more radical than:
- Then sitting back and watching EC$14 million on a three-day music festival while our families sleep four to a room?
- Caused civil unrest, then fled the country, leaving the same Dominicans behind to face the consequences while he hid in South Sudan.
- In May 2024 threatened to shut down the international airport when elected out of spite, hurting Dominica’s progress just to settle political scores.
- More committed to chasing personal overseas contracts than serving the very people he wants to elect him.
- Silent on solutions, loud on blame, no clear plan to fix agriculture, youth unemployment, or land access.
What the United Workers Party will not admit is this. They do not opposee the idea because it is wrong. They oppose it because they did not think of it!
Why Their Opposition Is A Sign of Weak Leadership.
Both the Dominica Labour Party and United Workers Party believe in the same broken system:
- Keep the poor dependent.
- Keep land in the hands of a few.
- Keep politics about survival, not solutions.
That is why both parties are secretly taking notice and even quietly talking about the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP). Because we are not just another political party, we are the first to bring forward a Direct Democracy government to the entire Western Hemisphere.
This is a historic milestone, not just for Dominica, not just for the Caribbean, but for the entire hemisphere. We are leading the way in people-first governance, where every Dominican will have a real voice, real power and a real seat at the table in the government’s decisions that affect their daily lives. This is not politics as usual. This is a movement, and you are part of history.
The People Of Dominica Deserve More Than Excuses.
Dominicans are tired. Tired of the empty promises. Tired of being told to wait. Tired of being told, “It’s not your time yet.” And the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) says, Your Time Is Now! And that is exactly why they will be fighting us. Because they know that when the people own the land, they also own their vote. Their voice. Their future.
Let Them Oppose Us, We Will Keep Building.
- Let them criticize.
- Let them laugh.
- Let them say it is not possible.
We will be too busy giving land, building homes, planting gardens, and transforming lives to worry about their noise. And when the smoke clears, and Dominicans start to see land in their hands and money in their pockets, they will remember who was willing to fight for them.
This is not just a political idea. It is a movement!
The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) Thinks Differently. We Lead Boldly. We Innovate.
We are not here to recycle broken promises. We are here to change the way government works in Dominica, permanently.
Innovation is what we do.
- While others say, “That’s not realistic,” we ask: Why not?
- While others wait for consultants and donors, we act for the people.
- While others copy failed policies from the past, we create solutions for the future.
Giving land to people who will build homes and grow food is not “too ambitious.” It is common sense. It is economically smart. And it is morally right. There is no reason this can not be done!
- Dominica has land.
- Dominica has people who want to build and farm.
- Dominica has a crisis of housing, poverty, food insecurity, and hopelessness.
So the only thing standing in our way until now has been the lack of political will from both the Dominica Labour Party and the United Workers Party.
That Is What We Bring to the Table: Real Will, Real Change, Real Solutions.
Let the old parties call it impossible. Let them laugh.
- They laughed when other Caribbean nations made community land trusts work.
- They laughed when people talked about renewable energy or free education.
- They always laugh until the world moves forward without them.
The NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) is not waiting for them to catch up. We are here to move this nation forward with our people, for our people. Dominicans do not need any redundant or recycled speeches.
- We need land!
- We need homes!
- We need food!
- We need dignity!
- And most of all, we all need HOPE!
And we are proud to be the first political party with the courage and imagination to make it happen. That is who we are, that is what we do. We innovate. We solve. We deliver. And with your support, we will do it together.
It is extremely important that you please like, comment, and share this post — and the many more available now and in the future. Because real change does not just happen, we make it happen together. For our message to reach every corner of Dominica, you must like and share these posts. That is how we spread the word. That is how we build a movement too strong to be ignored.
