The Dominica Labour Government has controlled Dominica for 25 years, and this country is worse off today than ever before. That is not politics; that is a cold, undeniable truth.
Our infrastructure is collapsing, businesses are shutting down, unemployment is out of control, and agriculture is not struggling; it is dead. Outside of Roseau, tourism is non-existent. But suddenly, just before calling a snap election, the Labour Party comes with their usual “big plans” and sweet promises, thinking we will fall for it again. We have seen this same game over and over.
There is a saying: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. So, how many more times are we going to fall for the same empty promises? Every election, they show up with fancy speeches, and once the votes are counted, nothing changes. We have nothing left to lose. Dominica has hit rock bottom. The only direction left is UP, but that is never going to happen if we keep voting for the same tired, corrupt system that has destroyed this country for decades.
The New Dominica Reform Party (DRP) is bringing real change. Yes, we are new, but we are not part of this broken system. We are here to return the power to the people, to put an end to the corruption, to rebuild our economy, and to make sure that Dominica works for everyone, not just the chosen few. And if you are still defending this government, it is either because you are benefiting from the corruption, or you are blind to the suffering around you. No one in their right mind can look around Dominica and say this is acceptable.
While other Caribbean islands are moving forward, we are falling behind, struggling, divided, and abandoned. We are one serious hurricane away from becoming the next Haiti, and let me remind you, after Maria, this government did not do anything extraordinary. They did what any government is supposed to do after a disaster: look after the people. And even that, they failed to do fairly.
Millions in relief funds were donated to Dominica after Maria, yet many of those funds are still unaccounted for, while a handful of individuals enriched themselves. Some got help rebuilding homes and businesses, while others were left with nothing. That is the corrupt system we have been stuck with. Under a Dominica Reform Party (DRP) government, disaster relief will go to everyone, fairly and equally, not just the friends and insiders of those in power.
We understand the doubt. We know many will be skeptical. But that is exactly why the NEW Dominica Reform Party (DRP) exists, to shake things up, to bring foreign investment back to Dominica, to create businesses, industries, and real jobs so our young people, and our older generations, can finally earn a decent living again.
